How We Grade Our Equipment
As New - These items are as good as new - they have never been used and might even still be in their original packaging. The shaft and grip could also be in their original wrapping. Enjoy all the advantages of a brand new golf club without the high cost!
Excellent - Only the lightest of usage marks can be seen - used for a few rounds at most. The clubs we rate as ‘excellent’ are a great deal, have barely seen any action on the course and feel like new in your hands.Very Good- Clubs that we class as ‘very good’ have absolutely no damage, and only minimal marks to the top line, if any at all. Any marks are purely cosmetic and won’t affect your game. You’ll probably spot play marks on the face and sole, but it’s a club that’s been well looked after and has plenty of years’ life left in it. Steel shafts might have minimal marking and slight cosmetic damage, but absolutely no rust, and graphite shafts may show light scratching and wear to the graphics, but there’ll be no sign of bag rub. Grips will always be in good condition with no wear marks. When you receive a club classified as ‘good’, rest assured that it has been well maintained and is ready to improve your game. Any minor marks you may notice are purely cosmetic and will not impact your performance on the course.
Good - A club classified as being in 'good' condition may exhibit some cosmetic imperfections, yet it will remain functional and playable. You might notice a few blemishes on the topline, head, and crown, but overall, it will still have considerable life left. The shaft will generally be in good shape, albeit with some cosmetic wear. Steel shafts may show minor scratches or rust, while graphite shafts might display slight signs of bag wear. The grip will be usable, though it may show some wear and could have lost a bit of its tackiness, which is easily remedied with a replacement. If you are seeking a good deal and are not overly concerned with the club's appearance, this option could be ideal for you.
Fair - The item remains functional, although it exhibits significant signs of usage and wear on the face. The shaft may display pitting or substantial rust spots, while graphite shafts could show considerable wear from being stored in a bag. The head might have noticeable chips or dents. The grips may have indentations and could potentially have splits or tears, indicating that they will require replacement soon. While the overall condition may be subpar, there are measures you can take to extend the club's lifespan, which is beneficial for the environment by reducing waste.
